“I’m not concerned with politics. I just know that it’s time to change the fact that only a lucky few get the chance to attend Virginia’s best schools. I’ve learned that charter schools are one way to give options to parents that would not have otherwise have had them.” – Keisha Cummings, Parent and PTA member, Patrick Henry School of Science and Arts
There’s a lot of talk about what charter schools are and how they work. The Virginia Charter School Project is a coalition of various organizations in the state of Virginia who believe charters an opportunity for Virginia’s kids that is worth fighting for. The coalition unites to educate parents and community members about charter schools. Through a statewide tour of informational events and activities, the coalition will get information out to parents, teachers and community members about charter schools and charter school law. It is the voice of the parent and community member that is critical, yet often missing, in the struggle to bring high quality school options to every parent.
